Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)

Yarrow Herbs for Sale

Yarrow is a perennial member of the daisy family that is original to Asia and Europe but now widely cultivated around the world. The plant has several common names that indicate its historical use, such as Soldier's Herb and Nosebleed. Yarrow is a member of the sunflower and daisy family that comes in a wide variety of colors, depending on species. Although the herb is native to temperate regions in Asia, Europe and North America, it is also a popular ornamental garden plant elsewhere.

The entire plant was used by various Native American tribes for skin complaints, and the Zuni chewed the flowers prior to eating or walking over fire.

At one time, the flowers were used to flavor wines, liquors and other beverages. Today, the flowers are mostly used in tea blends and to produce tinctures. Yarrow flowers are also infused in oil for use in making salves, creams and other skin care products.
